It is only lagging behind the fleet of Tesla Model Y Performance, making it one of the fastest SUV in its respective category.The 0.93 g grip on the skidpad and 106 foot stopping distance from 60 to 0 mph proves that the hefty 5,242 lbs curb weight does not impede on the dynamics of the Macan Electric.
The Macan Electric does not offer a one-pedal driving mode, but you can takedown speed in a smooth way, similar to how regular gas vehicles operate.
Range and Charging Performance
Coming in with a 95-kWh battery, our Macan 4S Electric has an EPA-rated range if 288 miles. In reality, we managed to take the distance to our credit card down to 261 miles on road trips at a steady 70 mph.
The charging times were favourable as 24 minutes to go from 5% to 80% charge and the full charge took 67 minutes to reach 100%. Not bad, but in context of some of its competitors in the space, we suspect this range and charging performance may have room for improvement.
On-Road Experience
Out on the narrow, twisty roads, the Macan 4S Electric taps into the spunk of a sprightly hot hatchback. It is nimble, the powertrain leaps without notice, and despite its weight it handles like its much smaller siblings.
But, not only is the Macan 4S Electric for the fun crowd. The Macan 4S Electric has air suspension that keeps the ride stuck to the pavement! The practicality of a daily commuter or long-distance drive translates nicely into the Porsche package if you just want to enjoy yourself.
Luxurious, but with Lots of Room to Improve
Porsche has let its design language shine by delivering a thoughtful experience inside the cabin. The ambient lighting and its functionality with the driver-assistance systems is thoughtful and complemented its sleek look with an elevation to being functional.
The let down is in the plastics. With a base price of $87,000 (our tested vehicle price at $98,225), one may expect more than the amount of plastic found in the inside. Amazon sells the same quality of materials, but they won't be found in a Porsche Taycan for a base price of $82,700.

However, performance is performance.
